The Basics
About One Hour One Life
This game lets you play a small part in a much bigger story. You only live an hour, but time and space in this game are infinite. While you can only accomplish so much in one lifetime, the tech tree is so vast that it’ll take hundreds of generations to explore it all.
It’s also about family trees. You start off as a baby, cared for by your mother, who’s another player. Later, you might get to take care of a baby of your own who is also another player. You build things for your life, but you soon realize that what you create isn’t just for you; it’s for your kids and all the others who will come after you. You might proudly use your grandmother's axe and then pass it down to your grandchild as your life winds down. You may work hard to help build an organized and efficient farm that benefits many generations or help gather the needed resources to start a new village off to promising new start!
Every life is a unique story. You were a kid born into a specific situation, and then you grew up. You opened a bakery near the wheat fields and watched your grandmother and mother age and pass away. You had some kids along the way, but now they’re all grown and you are an old woman looking back on a life that went by in just an hour.
When you die, that life will be over and gone forever. You can be born again, but you'll never get to relive this unique story. Everything’s always changing. You'll come back as a different person in a new place and time, with another fresh story to dive into in the next hour.
